For a public intercultural and multilingual library in Luxembourg

Public petition

4006

Submission date 13/03/2026

OBJECT : For a public intercultural and multilingual library in Luxembourg: a vibrant space to celebrate our diversity Luxembourg is home to 180 nationalities, with 47% of residents holding foreign nationality. This human richness is our strength, but it deserves a concrete place in which to fully express itself: a public intercultural and multilingual library, open to everyone. Why is this project essential? • Access to reading for all: books in all family (mother-tongue) languages, free and accessible, so that every child and every family can read and learn in their own language • Equal opportunities: reducing inequalities in access to culture and education by offering resources tailored to all communities • A space for encounter: a place where cultures meet, stories are shared, and people learn from one another • Support for family-language or mother-tongue schools: more than 40 schools teaching over 30 languages could find resources and a space for their activities • A model of integration: demonstrating that Luxembourg, a multilingual country, can be an example of social cohesion and peaceful coexistence

Reduzéiert Akzisen op Bensin an Diesel fir Residenten a Krisenzäiten

Public petition

4047

Submission date 05/04/2026

OBJECT : Dës Petitioun fuerdert, datt Lëtzebuerg an Zäite vun enger internationaler Ueleg-, Energie- oder Versuergungskris d'Akzisen op Bensin an Diesel nëmme fir Residenten oder fir Gefierer mat lëtzebuergescher Immatrikulatioun reduzéiert. Persounen mat Wunnsëtz zu Lëtzebuerg a Gefierer mat lëtzebuergesche Placke sollen an esou Situatiounen e reduzéierte Präis bezuelen, deen duerch eng méi niddreg Besteierung erméiglecht gëtt. Auslännesch Gefierer an Tanktouristen sollen de normale Präis an déi normal Besteierung bäibehalen. D'Zil ass et, d'Residenten ze entlaaschten, ouni datt de Staat de Kraftstoffpräis direkt subventionéiert oder ëffentlech Gelder fir den Tanktourismus agesat ginn. D'Regierung soll d'Méiglechkeet kréien, temporär: d'Akzisen op Bensin an Diesel fir Residenten ze reduzéieren; den normale Steiersaz fir Net-Residenten an auslännesch Gefierer bäizebehalen; d'Kontroll iwwer d'Immatrikulatioun oder de Wunnsëtz virzegesinn; dës Moossnam automatesch a Kraaft trieden ze loossen, wann eng offiziell Energiekris deklaréiert gëtt oder wann de Präis vum Pëtrol eng festgeluechte Grenz iwwerschreit.
