Purpose of the petition
The Luxembourg financial sector holds one of the largest amounts of U.S. Treasury debt in the European Union. This represents a significant concentration of risk for our national economy, whose stability is deeply linked to the health of its financial sector. We urge a review of this exposure.
Reason for the petition
We call on the Parliament and relevant regulators to encourage and facilitate a reduction in the Luxembourg financial sector's excessive exposure to U.S. debt and a diversification into a broader range of secure and sustainable assets. This is essential to protect our national economy, increase its resilience against external financial shocks, and secure our future prosperity.
