Purpose of the petition
The petition asks that between May and July, during the summer weekends, the rotation of emergency services be suspended or expanded, so that more hospitals in Luxembourg City can open their emergency rooms and better cope with the large number of patients.
Reason for the petition
It is clear that in the summer, the emergency departments are significantly overloaded during the weekends and have difficulty managing the influx of patients effectively. One reason for this is the longer days and favourable weather conditions, which lead to an increase in accidents and emergencies. This increase in activity is putting significant pressure not only on healthcare staff, but also on hospital infrastructure, particularly medical imaging equipment, which is often stretched beyond its optimal capacity. The result is a deterioration in the quality of care and a prolonged wait for patients, who may have to wait several hours before being fully examined.

Title of the petition: Stop à la rotation des urgences hospitalières les week-ends d'été Aim of the petition: La pétition demande qu'entre mai et juillet, pendant les week-ends d'été, la rotation des services d'urgence soit suspendue ou élargie, afin que davantage d'hôpitaux à Luxembourg-ville puissent ouvrir leurs urgences et mieux faire face au nombre important de patients. Motivation of the general interest of the petition: Il est manifeste qu'en période estivale, les services des urgences connaissent une surcharge notable durant les week-ends et rencontrent des difficultés à gérer efficacement l'afflux de patients. Cette situation s'explique notamment par l'allongement des journées et des conditions météorologiques favorables, qui entraînent une augmentation des accidents et des situations d'urgence. Ce surcroît d'activité exerce une pression importante non seulement sur le personnel soignant, mais également sur les infrastructures hospitalières, notamment les équipements d'imagerie médicale, souvent sollicités au-delà de leur capacité optimale. Il en résulte une dégradation de la qualité de prise en charge et une attente prolongée pour les patients, susceptibles de devoir patienter plusieurs heures avant d'être pleinement examinés.
