The petition asks that between May and July, during the summer weekends, the rotation of emergency services be suspended or expanded, so that more hospitals in Luxembourg City can open their emergency rooms and better cope with the large number of patients.

It is clear that in the summer, the emergency departments are significantly overloaded during the weekends and have difficulty managing the influx of patients effectively. One reason for this is the longer days and favourable weather conditions, which lead to an increase in accidents and emergencies. This increase in activity is putting significant pressure not only on healthcare staff, but also on hospital infrastructure, particularly medical imaging equipment, which is often stretched beyond its optimal capacity. The result is a deterioration in the quality of care and a prolonged wait for patients, who may have to wait several hours before being fully examined.
