Le but de la pétition est de permettre aux personnes qui habitent sandweiler ou qui traivaillent à la prison de Schrassig de rejoindre leur lieu de travail à pied , Permettre aux visiteurs de la prison qui sont en générale les mamans et les enfants souvent à pousette de rejointre le centre pénitentiaire de Luxembourg à pied en toute sécurité sans plus prendre le risque de marcher au bord d'une route nation de 90km/h comme c'est le cas actuellement . Le chemin piéton entre Sandweiler et la prison de schrassig permet d'éviter d'éventuel accident de la route .

Les centre pénitentiaire de Luxembourg étant un bâtiment public, un chemin piéton permet aux personnes qui souhaitent le rejoindre à pied de le faire en toute sécurité sans risque d'accident de circulation.
