STOP littering with cigarette butts. STOP littering.

Public petition

4051

Submission date 10/04/2026

OBJECT : It is 2026, and we continue to see cigarette ends and other litter on the ground every day. Despite the 2012 law, which was tightened in 2022, some people continue to throw their cigarette ends on the ground without facing any consequences. This pollution, which is entirely preventable, should no longer be happening in 2026. (It is hard to understand how some people can still do this in full knowledge of the law...) Solutions must be found urgently to enforce the law. Without fines, attitudes will not change, despite the various awareness campaigns. Proof in action: Speed cameras help to reduce speeding. Breathalyser checks help to reduce alcohol abuse. Etc. We must therefore introduce police checks and issue fines to those who continue to throw away their cigarette ends or other litter. As a reminder, Singapore sets an example for us all. Throwing away a cigarette end is punishable by a fine of EUR12,400 and several hours of community service. Conclusion: no cigarette ends or chewing gum on the ground.

Fir méi proportional a gerecht Geldstrofen bei Vitessiwwerschreidungen

Public petition

4107

Submission date 13/05/2026

Awer vill Bierger hunn haut d'Gefill, datt den aktuelle System net ëmmer genuch tëscht engem klenge Feeler an engem wierklech geféierleche Verhalen ënnerscheet. Et schéngt schwéier ze verstoen, datt eng Persoun, déi an enger 50er-Zon mat 51 km/h geblëtzt gëtt nom Toleranzofzéien, aktuell déi selwecht Geldstrof bezilt wéi eng Persoun, déi mat 69 km/h kontrolléiert gëtt. Obwuel de Risiko an d'Responsabilitéit net vergläichbar sinn, bleift d'Sanktioun identesch. Déi selwecht Situatioun fënnt een och bei 30er-Zonen, op Landstroossen oder op der Autobunn. Dës Petitioun fuerdert dofir eng méi fair an differenzéiert Staffelung vun de Sanktiounen, déi besser un d'Gravitéit vun der effektiver Vitessiwwerschreidung ugepasst ass. Eng gerecht a verständlech Regelung géif net nëmmen d'Gefill vu Fairness stäerken, mee och d'Akzeptanz vum System bei de Bierger verbesseren. Well eng Sanktioun gëtt vill besser akzeptéiert, wann si als gerecht a logesch empfonnt gëtt. D'Zil vun dëser Petitioun ass also net, Vitessiwwerschreidungen ze vernoléissegen, mee e System ze schafen, deen Sécherheet a Gerechtegkeet besser matenee verbënnt.

Adjust the acoustic criterion for subsidies (Klimabonus) for heat pumps: keep 40 dB(A) but assess at the immission point (window) rather than at the property boundary.

Public petition

4074

Submission date 20/04/2026

OBJECT : In the current context of geopolitical instability and energy shocks-particularly linked to the war in Iran and disruptions in energy markets-Luxembourg must strengthen its energy resilience by accelerating the uptake of efficient, low-carbon heating solutions such as heat pumps. We request that, solely for access to subsidies/financial support (Klimabonus) related to heat pumps, the current acoustic control method be adapted: the 40 dB(A) threshold would be maintained, but the assessment would be carried out at the relevant immission point (at the window closest to a noise-sensitive room at the neighbour's dwelling) rather than at the property boundary.
