Petitions to the Chamber of Deputies

OBJECT : Safety is a fundamental right, yet a growing sense of insecurity is gripping our streets. Current police presence is clearly insufficient to protect citizens from rising street crime and public disturbances. We respectfully ask the Chamber of Deputies take immediate action to: 1. Substantially increase visible police foot patrols across urban areas around the clock. 2. Drastically strengthen night shifts to secure our streets when risk is highest. 3. Deploy the immediate human and material resources necessary to restore public safety While police forces do an admirable job with available resources, current patrol levels-especially during late-night and overnight hours-are insufficient to effectively deter petty crime, public disturbances, and anti-social behavior.

OBJECT : Introduce legislation requiring employers in Luxembourg to provide clear, specific and objective justifications for every mandatory language requirement included in a job advertisement. The legislation should establish the following obligations: Job-related justification: Each mandatory language requirement must be justified by specific professional duties, such as communication with clients, colleagues, public authorities or other stakeholders. Proportional proficiency levels: Employers must justify not only the language required but also the requested proficiency level, using the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Distinction between essential and desirable skills: Languages that are useful but not essential for performing the job must be identified as desirable rather than mandatory. Transparent job advertisements: Justifications must be included directly in job descriptions, allowing applicants to understand why the specified language skills are necessary. Prevention of arbitrary requirements: Language requirements must be proportionate to the actual responsibilities of the position and must not create unjustified barriers to employment. Oversight and enforcement: Competent authorities must be empowered to examine potentially unjustified language requirements and impose proportionate sanctions for non-compliance.

OBJECT : Le but de cette pétition est de demander une modification de la loi du 28 juillet 2018 relative au REVIS afin que les bénéficiaires du REVIS qui exercent leur droit au congé parental à temps plein ou à temps partiel soient dispensés, pendant la durée de leur congé parental, de l'obligation de rester inscrits auprès de l'ADEM et de rechercher ou d'accepter un emploi supplémentaire. Cette modification vise à garantir une égalité de traitement entre les parents travaillant à temps plein et ceux travaillant à temps partiel, à permettre aux parents de profiter pleinement de leur congé parental et à assurer une meilleure cohérence entre les objectifs de la politique familiale et ceux du REVIS.
