The proposal - To allow dogs on a lead and under their owner's supervision into local shops (bakeries, butchers, ice-cream parlours, grocery shops), except in areas expressly prohibited for health or safety reasons - Introduce simple and practical rules: leashes compulsory; dogs permitted only if they do not disrupt service; no entry to preparation areas without a barrier; owners liable for any damage - Raise awareness amongst shopkeepers and the public about responsible behaviour (picking up after their dogs, keeping them on a leash, muzzling them if necessary)
